Pathological changes often alter the elastic properties of the tissues and organs. To quantify the biomedical material properties and assist diagnosis of cancerous tumors, elastography has been developed to quantitatively visualize distribution of the elastic modulus in biological media, incorporating measurements of displacement and force.
