Abstract
Local wall heat flux measurements of saturated pool boiling of FC-72 on a small heated area held at constant wall temperature were made. An array of 96 temperature controlled heaters was used to measure the heat flux distribution on this surface. Array-averaged heat flux, RMS variations in heat flux, and local heat flux information is presented. Local heat flux variations are shown to be three to six times larger than variations in the spatially averaged heat flux.
