The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is a next generation electron positron linear collider designed for high precision measurements of physics beyond the Standard Model which is envisaged in the post Large Hadron Collider (LHC) era. One of the main challenges to achieving high precision measurements is the generation of stable electron positron bunches without unwanted satellite trails as commonly encountered with current thermionic gun technologies.
