Abstract
Tables have been developed covering all standard steel-wire gages between 0.025 and 0.394 in., music-wire gages between 0.010 and 0.118 in., and most even fractional dimensions. Odd wire sizes or nonferrous materials may also be derived with slight additional work. A summary is given of design considerations, and limitations, together with examples of the application of the spring tables as an aid in applying the fundamental principles outlined.
